Gold Medal Game!

I predicted USA to finish 4th or 5th place, but I wanted them to win gold. Canada vs. USA! Americans should be proud of how good the team played. Silver medal is good enough in my eyes. Everything a major hockey fan like me wants to see, a gold medal game go into OT!

With under 30 seconds left in the game, USA (Zach Parise) tied the game at 2, I felt relieved.
Then in OT, Sidney Crosby wins the gold for Team Canada.
Congratulations Canada, you earned it, but watch out in 2014, USA will get you back.
Ryan Miller for president!

Previews For The 2010 Pirates (and MLB preview)

With only 4 days until the first MLB spring training game, and 5 days for the Pirates. I thought I would post this blog. The roster for the Buccos looks like the same as it was in recent years, but I believe this year there is "hope." Like offseason pickups like, Akinori Iwamura, Bobby Crosby, and Ryan Church they will in my mind be a great addition for the Pirates.

I expect (or like to see this happen)
Garrett Jones with around 30 or 35 Homeruns with around 90-100 RBI's.
Ryan Doumit to play a season WITHOUT any injuries.
Andrew McCutchen to hit 15-20 Homeruns, and many stolen bases, also with around 70 RBI's.
I would LOVE to see Brandon Moss get traded.
Neil Walker to have an excellent year.
Andy LaRoche to start this season on the good side of stats, and not like last year in April when he couldnt hit a pumpkin.
I would like to see our new players play great, become fan favorites, and help us get to .500
BUT MOST IMPORTANTLY, I would absolutely love to see our pitchers play good, and our bullpen not to blow games.
Ross Ohlendorf to have 15 wins, he played good last year with a 11-10 record with a 3.92 ERA.
Paul Maholm to pitch like he did in 2008, last season he was a disappointment in my eyes.
Zach Duke to pitch like he did in 2005! He was also a disappointment last season.

ME AND EVERY OTHER PIRATE FAN WOULD LOVE A SEASON RECORD OF 82-80!

Do the Pirate owners want to see an empty stadium? Or is the team tryin' to get bad enough to make another Major League movie?

Well no matter what happens I will ALWAYS be a Pittsburgh Pirates fan, LETS GO BUCS!

Now, for the MLB preview...
I am a 100% New York Yankees hater. I hope they go down this year.
Tampa Bay Rays will have a year like they did in 2008, when they made it to the World Series.
In the American League the only division where I expect a different divison champion is the AL East. The AL Central and West will probably look exactly the same with the Minnesota Twins and the LA Angles to capture their division crown.
Same with the National League, I expect to see the same division champions as last year (Philadelphia, St.Louis, and Los Angeles.) Wild Card teams in both leagues, I dont know about that, we shall see.

Ok, thanks for reading this post. Another post about Olympic hockey will be after the gold medal hockey game.

New Jersey Nets (WTF?!?!?!)

I dont watch basketball, but I do see highlights on ESPN, and for a while this season I have been watchin how the New Jersey Nets play. As of today the Nets are 5-50! Oh my god! I am goin' to keep a close eye on the Nets for the rest of the season, to see what their record looks like at the end of the year. My prediction is 7-75. I believe that would the worst record in the history of the NBA.

2010 Winter Olympics Hockey

Short post.
Canada and Russia have the two best teams, they are stacked.
My medal predictions are:

Gold: Canada
Silver: Russia
Bronze: Sweden

The United States hockey team, looks and seems better than I first expected, so I expect a 4th or 5th place finish for the USA.

2/10/10- Penguins vs. Islanders

Went to this game with my brother.
The arena opened 30 minutes earlier than usual, because of the weather.
We got into the arena around 6:15.

The picture above was taken durin' the national anthem, which is usually sang at Penguin game by Pittsburgh favorite, Jeff Jimmerson.

The picture above is the opening faceoff, and the view from my seat I had for the game.
Section: D5 Row: H Seat: 4
A great thing about my seat was that, it was in the last row of the section, so I could stand up, and it was also the end of the row.
The arena does look empty, and thats because of the terrible weather that we have had in the area this week, but attendence is based on tickets sold, and it was another sellout for the Penguins.

The Penguins won 3-1, Chris Kunitz scored 2 goals, and Malkin had the other one. I was glad that I got to see John Taveres in action, even though I did not a picture.

In the picture above, it is the Icetime program, and 2 tickets I collected at the game, mine is the one on top, these are the tickets you print off the internet, and this picture was taken after I cut them out.

*My next Penguins game, will be on March 2nd against the Buffalo Sabres.
* Also my tickets for the Pirates home opener came in the mail the other day.
